2025 Supersonic

Supersonic as part of Illuminate Adelaide launched in 2025 as an ambitious 12-hour takeover of Adelaide’s West End, spanning seven venues and combining live music, electronic performance, visual art, film, installation and dance.

Audiences could create their own journey through free and ticketed experiences at Adelaide Contemporary Experimental, Ancient World, The Lab at ILA, Jive, Lion Arts Factory, Nexus Arts and Mercury Cinema.

The inaugural program featured 17 artist and creative projects, including a late-night electronic lineup curated by Motez, a film program curated by Shalom Almond, and performances from FUKHED, Memphis LK, dameeeela, Frank Yamma, MBODJ and an extensive lineup of South Australian artists.

Producing the event required the integration of seven independently operated venues, overlapping performance schedules, multiple curatorial partners, artist and technical requirements, audience movement, ticketing and an all-access pass system. Supersonic Multi Passes sold out, demonstrating strong demand for the new format.
